Strategic Goals

Build Community

Facilitate a student-centered campus through fostering greater interaction, integration, understanding and appreciation of all cultures in our community and beyond

Selected Current Activities:

  1. New student and transfer orientation and comprehensive residential life programs
  2. Educational, cultural, wellness, and social programming
  3. C.A.R.E. Summer Bridge preparation and support programs for students facing unique economic, cultural, or educational challenges
  4. Annual President’s Retreat for faculty, staff, and students

Future Initiatives:

  1. Develop strategies to increase student engagement and learning opportunities across campus
  2. Support the Spiritual Life and Civility Projects
  3. Utilize parental engagement to support student development programmatically and financially

Educate Leaders to Make a Difference

Prepare ethical leaders for a global society

  3. Beyond Borders cultural exchange program
  4. Ethics education and development through undergraduate Ethics Course

  3. Expand internship and experiential opportunities

Integrate Learning

Educate students and collaborate with Academic Affairs to provide a comprehensive culture of learning

  3. Career Development Courses
  4. Healthy Campus 2020

Future Initiatives:

  1. Enhance and support student leadership learning initiatives
  2. Expand internationalization efforts in partnership with Academic Affairs
  3. Encourage the study of the college student experience and program effectiveness to promote student success
  4. Implement Phase 2 of ePortfolio

Ensure Operational Excellence

Maximize resources to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments

Selected Current Activities:

  1. Training and certification programs offered for more than 1,200 student employees in the Division
  2. Crisis Management and Student Situation Resolution Team (SSRT) – University-wide committee coordinating communication and problem-solving efforts for distressed and distressing students
  3. Financial and programmatic support from the Seminole Torchbearers Alumni
  4. Efficient and effective professional development activities for students, faculty and staff

Future Initiatives:

  1. Increase mental health and wellness resources
