Formation of a New Professional Development Committee: A committee was formed that addresses the professional development needs of all DSA employees. To meet the needs of a diverse student affairs staff, all professional development programs and activities must identify one or more of three DSA employee tracks as a target audience. DSA employee tracks include USPS, A&P and Graduate-Undergraduate Student Employees.
Moreover, all programs and activities established by the committee meet the professional development needs of DSA staff by focusing on one or more of the following professional development tracks:
Skill Development & Training – It is important to create opportunities for staff to enhance individual on-the-job skills, benefiting both the employee and their department.
Knowledge/Scholarship Based Learning – This track allows employees to seek out and share new knowledge and scholarship with the entire division, allowing DSA to remain competitive at both a regional and national level.
Team/Community Building – Team or community building activities will create a very positive working environment, as well as allow for the recognition of individual staff achievements.
Health, Wellness & Safety – To enhance the quality of service we provide students and parents, it is important to create a safe and healthy working environment in order for all DSA employees to be successful.
