We are also proud to recognize Florida State University as a whole for receiving a “Program of Distinction” award for the collaborative and collective response to Hurricane Irma in the Fall 2017 Semester. This award recognizes and celebrates strong programs and services provided for students throughout the state of Florida. The response to Hurricane Irma was collaborative and involved FSU Police and Emergency Management professionals, the Division of Student Affairs, Human Resources, Finance and Administration, and food services and dining. Having experienced Hurricane Hermine just one year prior, FSU was able to capitalize on the knowledge from that experience to plan for and execute a more seamless and efficient storm preparation and response.
Congratulations to our award winners and thank you for your service to Florida State!
