For the past month, Black Lives Matter protests have swept the United States and echoed around the globe. The Division of Student Affairs has heard from our Black students, faculty and staff and we are committed to make necessary changes.
We listen. We learn. We care. We respond. The Division of Student Affairs has heard the voices of survivors of power based personal violence – as shared on social media, through testimonies shared during the SGA Senate meeting, and as reported to the University.
The events of the last several weeks have been highly painful for many students in the FSU community and in particular, our Jewish student community. During this time of perceived silence, the FSU administration has been working with Jewish student leaders, Hillel at FSU leadership, Jewish alumni and local Jewish organizations to develop a list of action items.
As many of you are aware, yesterday Atlanta experienced the tragic murder of 8 members of its community. We send our heartfelt condolences to those impacted, their family members and the entire community.
