Zduy Chu
Assistant Vice President
Dr. Zduy Chu serves as the Assistant Vice President for the Division of Student Affairs. In this role, he is responsible for providing senior-level management, leadership, and vision in the division and within the Student Life portfolio which is comprised of Fraternity & Sorority Life, University Housing and Childcare, New Student and Family Programs and the Panama City campus Student Affairs. Dr. Chu joins Florida State University from Valdosta State University where he served as the Deputy Chief Officer of Student Affairs - Strategic Initiatives. Prior to joining Valdosta State University in 2017, he was Georgia State University’s Assistant Director for Residential Student Success and Retention. He was also a Semester at Sea Living Learning Coordinator and a Student Leadership Coordinator at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dr. Chu has a doctorate in education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University. He holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas in higher education leadership and marketing management, respectively. He is also a certified qualified administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory, a coach for targeted selection and behavioral based interviews, and a facilitator for StrengthsQuest and LeaderShape. He is a member of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Board as the Chair Elect and a diversity, equity and inclusion national committee member for Sigma Phi Epsilon.
