FSU alum to perform one-man show on mental health, gun violence in Tallahassee

When Florida State University alumnus Micah Johnson looks back at his childhood, he remembers growing up near Orlando in a tough environment filled with shootings, stabbings, fights and brawls.
His experience is what gave him the drive to write and produce an exclusive one-man show that he will perform in to promote mental health and shines light on gun violence while also celebrating the 45th anniversary of FSU's “Mighty” Mu Epsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

The NPHC Park honors the nine historically African American/Black Fraternities and Sororities that fall under the National Pan-Hellenic Council (Divine 9), turning a long-held dream into reality.

FSU makes important statement by honoring Black Greek-letter organizations

Nov. 22nd, 2024 is when Florida State University marked a historic milestone by officially opening its new NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) Park Plaza. The plaza – formerly the Moore Auditorium Courtyard, is now a dedicated space displaying respective monuments for each of the nine historically Black fraternities and sororities.

Seminoles celebrate FSU Homecoming with parade Friday afternoon

Clad in garnet and gold, Seminoles young and old lined the parade route Friday as Florida State University kicked off a weekend of homecoming.
Proud FSU parents lined the sidewalks, watching their kids march in the parade. One parent said he met his wife at FSU and now their son attends the university.
“We were just elated,” he said. “and he’s been in the Marching Chiefs 4 years, and it’s been great to watch him progress.”

'Significant addition': FSU to celebrate on-campus park for Black fraternities, sororities

What emerged as an idea seven years ago is now being celebrated as Florida State University's historic National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Park on campus – a tribute to Black Greek-letter organizations.
Following FSU's homecoming parade, the university's Division of Student Affairs will hold a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Friday to celebrate the opening of the NPHC Park located between Legacy Walk and the Student Union building.
